I picked up this book at Chapters today and finished it within half hour. I can't stop reading it because the content is attractive.
It is a good book, I was touched by the relationship between Claire and her mom. However, I don't consider this book as a novel because it is just literely the collection of notes between mother and daugher. It is a new style of describing the love between mother , daugher and people around them. When I read this book, I think of another book 「Dear Andrea 親愛的安德烈」written by Taiwanese Author Lung Ying-Tai (龍應台). This book recorded 36 letter between Lung, Ying-Yai and his son Andrea. I like the book written by Lung Ying-Tai's better than Life on the refrigerator door because Alice's book is only the collection of the post-it notes on the refrigerator ,t he author can add more detail to the content base on those notes. And I think that's why the price of this book is really cheap, around $9.95 CND.
