The book is about the life story of the professor Pausch who died in July 25 2008 due to the complications from pancreatic cancer. His last lecture in the Carnegie Mellon, "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" is also available on Youtube.
The book is about professor Paunch’s childhood dreams and how he achieving it. He achieved most of his childhood dreams through out his short life. It’s amazing that he made it and is willing to share with others. He's also a great cancer fighter. For those who is interesting in his story, you can check out his website. I love his saying about "The brick wall is there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things” He love his career as the professor because he is able to help others to enable their childhood dreams. He is always encourage people never give up on their dreams; even though he didn't get through his biggest brick wall, he did fight till the last second.
This is the first English book that I want to finish it after I first read it. Its a good book and I think the reader should also watch the video of his last lecture on youtube and I hope you will get inspired after reading his book or watch his last lecture in his career.
ps. I also learn something about the pancreatic cancer. It has a high death rate because it is hard to be discovered; for this, most of the patient who got diagnosed of pancreatic cancers died very soon.
ps Professor Pausch's wife Jai was mad before he decided to do the lecture because she wanted him to spend more time with the family members. However, I think Jai will be regard if she did opposite his decision. The book and the video of the last lecture will be the best gifts for their kids.
